NGC 4622, also known as the Backward Galaxy, is a spiral galaxy located approximately 111 million light-years away from Earth in the constellation, Centaurus. The reason for the name, "Backward Galaxy" is due to its spiral arms winding to the opposite direction to the rotation. The strange backward spin of the galaxies is believed to be caused by a previous collision with a smaller galaxy.
