NGC 1762 (other designations UGC 3238, MCG 0-13-67, ZWG 394.73, IRAS05010+0130, PGC 16654) is a spiral galaxy (Sc) in the constellation Orion. This object is among those listed in the original edition of the New General Catalogue. Supernova SN 2002cy and iPTF 13dge erupted in the galaxy. Its peak apparent stellar magnitude was 16.7. The NGC 1762 galaxy is part of the NGC 1762 group of galaxies (fr.)rus. In addition to NGC 1762, the group also includes 26 more galaxies. This galaxy is located in the east of the constellation Orion, near the lower edge of the Shield of Orion, in the west of the star Pi 6 Orion, next to the star W Orion. The nearest bright stars are HD 32273, HD 287487, SAO 112358, HD 287488. I enter this galaxy in my catalog as Neurogal 1 and Absolute Mom 1.
