Fireworks Galaxy, also known as NGC 6946, is a face-on spiral galaxy located approximately 25.2 million light-years away between the constellations of Cepheus and Cygnus. It is also known for the high rate of star formation and supernova explosions. The name, "Fireworks Galaxy" is due to the high rate of supernova explosions. One example of a supernova in this galaxy is SN 2004et.
